What AI Sees in Your Microsoft 365 Tenant: File Archiving for AI Readiness and Cost Control
Microsoft 365 Copilot is only as powerful as the data it can access. For many organizations, decades of redundant, outdated, and trivial (ROT) data create a hidden “AI tax”—inflating storage costs while reducing the quality of AI-generated insights by surfacing irrelevant or outdated information. Cleaning up ROT data is one of the most important—and often overlooked—steps in preparing Microsoft 365 environments for the AI era. In this session, Vlad Catrinescu (Microsoft MVP, Syskit) and Danijel Cižek (Product Manager Team Lead, Syskit) provide a practical deep dive into Microsoft’s new File-Level Archive capabilities for SharePoint and Microsoft 365. You’ll learn how cold storage works, how Microsoft structures archive storage costs, and what technical guardrails IT leaders need to understand before implementing file archiving strategies. The session will also walk through the end-user experience, showing what happens when users encounter archived files and how reactivation works in real-world scenarios. Finally, we’ll move from features to strategy. Discover how Syskit Point helps organizations identify archiving candidates across thousands of sites, automate lifecycle policies, and generate reporting that demonstrates...
